XS Cargo (Saskatoon) female cashier calls a senior customer "snotty."

SASKATOON, Sunday Dec 26, 2010, 2:30 P.M.
Thousands await for Boxing Day, hoping to find a deal here and there. The stores take advantage of this atmosphere, spending maximum dollars on advertisement to draw customers to their stores in the hope of diminishing their stock. Such was the case with XS Cargo (Saskatoon). Its Boxing Day flyer promised all kinds of deals for the bargain hunters.
It was about 2:30 P.M. on Boxing Day, Sunday, December 26, 2010, when an elderly gentlemen went to cash out at the cash register closest to the exit door. There he was served by a female cashier.
The gentleman presented his merchandise to the female cashier, a webcam supposedly advertised in the Boxing Day flyer for only $4.99. The cashier processed the merchandise and the monitor displayed $ 9.99. The gentleman asked the teller, "How much does it say?" She replied, "$ 9.99". The gentleman said, "It is advertised in the Boxing Day flyer for $4.99" Annoyed by the gentleman's comment, the teller rudely replied, "The price is $9.99 as it says on the screen." Politely, the gentleman replied, "The sign where I got it from, it said $4.99". Raising her voice, the female teller said, "Well any customer could have changed the signs. You do not have to be so snotty about it!"
The gentleman, having been sufficiently insulted for no reason at all, looked at the cashier and told her, "You can keep your merchandise." And he walked out.
XS Cargo (Saskatoon) has a reputation of being rude to its customers. This is not the first time. But this latest incident sets a new record for uncalled extreme verbal abuse.
What kind of a retail business would hire staff and train them to insult the customers? Surely this must be company acceptable practices since nothing is being done to remove (fire), not only unfriendly, but rude employees.
My recommendation to shoppers, stay away from XS Cargo (Saskatoon) to protest the verbal abuse of shoppers and especially the abuse towards our aging customers who do not deserve this kind of treatment. Businesses like XS Cargo are not wanted in Saskatoon!
The events as others see them and as they should be told!
